Five Cleaning Hacks For Moving
When preparing for a move there is a lot of time and energy spent on packing alone, but then there’s the matter of deep cleaning the home you’re leaving. It can feel overwhelming but we found a few great tips that will help make the hard parts a breeze!
Who knew walls could get so dirty?! Before you grab a wet cloth, make sure you do a thorough dusting of the walls or all that dust will just be smudged around. Some old towels are a great way to catch any water drips. Ensure the sponge and cleaner have no dyes so that your walls don’t get an accidental paint job. Crack open windows to help with the dry time and you are ready for the next room!
Cleaning dusty dirty blinds quickly feels like an impossible task so we LOVE this hack. Mix equal parts water and vinegar, slip an old white sock on your hand, dunk into mixture and wipe down each slat. Efficient, eco-friendly and your blinds will be ready for their next owner!
Cleaning a bathtub is a great way to hurt your back… Try a magic eraser to get those scummy and moldy marks sparkling clean!
A dirty oven is a sign you are a great cook, but it can be a pain to get clean. Baking soda is a great green way to get all the dried food off the inside of your oven!
Once all your furniture has been moved out or shuffled into a corner, the carpet will have marks from where the heavy pieces sat for years. Ice cubes to the rescue! Simply put cubes in the small wells left by the furniture legs, let them melt then fluff the carpet and voila!
